Pornography Addiction – Individual Responsibility

Play

Arthur B. Motley, publisher once said, “All the freedom man has achieved to date has been achieved only because individuals accepted responsibility, assumed obligations, performed on promises, and delivered to the rest of mankind whatever gifts and talent with which they were endowed.

For those of future generations who would be free and help others achieve freedom, there is no other course except to live our daily lives as individuals responsible for our own morals, our own character, our own family, our own industry, our own jobs.”

Cling to solid and time tested principles when confronted with the challenges the world offers.  By doing so you can find internal freedom, which is worth more than all the gold in the world.

Having a clear conscience is worth any price!

Pornography Destroys Lives

We recently received this email and wanted to share it with about the dangers of pornography. This individual has had their life, virtually, destroyed but he is coming back and has asked us to make sure we raise the voice of warning about pornography addiction after receiving our weekly boost, “What Legacy Are You Leaving Behind?”

” I have been a subscriber to your email weekly boost for sometime.  …

Unfortunately, my sexual addiction to internet pornography escalated dramatically.  My dark journey down this road eventually led me to illegal pornography.  My home was raided by federal agents last Aug. and my computers were seized.  I recently returned from 6 wks of inpatient treatment at ….  This was followed by 6 more weeks at the Professional Enhancement Program also associated with ….  It was the toughest thing I have had to do in my 59 years.

Thank God I went there.  I now have a clear understanding of how my addiction arose.  More importantly, I have learned the tools to keep it at bay and am now almost 3 mos. sober from sexual acting out and alcohol.

The consequences of my acting out are on the horizon and will most likely include incarceration for possession of child pornography.  I had never seen or thought about child pornography until I came across it on a web site last March.  My days as a practicing physician are over for now.  My family is supportive but fearful.  I get by through daily 12 Step Meetings and turning things over to God. Sexual Addiction is truly cunning, baffling and powerful.  I am sending this to you so that perhaps someone else may recognize how easily lives can be turned upside down by this so called “victimless” activity on line.  Please keep me and my family in your prayers.”

We wish this individual the best and are very sad that he was not able to manage his addiction before these unfortunate events.

Pornography has destroyed many lives but even if you have gone down a path you wished you would not have taken. There is help, get it!

Live and leave a legacy you would be proud of if someone was to shout it from the mountain tops and Trust in Your Capacity to Change.

Pornography Addiction – Waste of Time

Robert Herrick (poet)

“Gather ye rosebuds while ye may, Old Time is still a flying’ and this same flower that smiles today tomorrow will be dying.” -Robert Herrick
Chronology, the science of time, is something we all think about when one year rolls away and another begins.  We are a year older in this arbitrary division we make of nights and days.  Few people like it.  Philip James Bailey, a nineteenth century poet, tells us that years are no way of reckoning time:  “We live in deeds, not year; in thoughts, not breaths; in feelings, not in figures on a dial.  We should count time by heart-throbs.  He most lives who thinks most – feels the noblest – acts the best.  Make the most of yourself now while the day lasts.
“List, good people all!  Past ten o’clock the hour I call.  Now say your prayers and take your rest, with conscience clear and sins confessed.  I bid you all good night! Good night!” – The Town Crier
